In a way it’s like how people call themselves “software engineers” instead of “programmer” even if that might be more fitting. You sound more competent when you say devops so you might be able to get a larger salary than a sysadmin.

This looks awesome for a personal/portfolio site. I use matomo for mine and it’s sort of overkill. You have to set up your own lamp/lemp stack just to get analytics and I use maybe 1% of the features.

If the devs use SSR and code splitting and whatnot loadtime isn't so bad. But yea these frameworks get abused because everyone wants to stay competitive and make a decent salary

Yea I’ve been on a few. Basically I felt that I got taken hostage (no key to the airbnb, no car rental budget, basically forced to stay with colleagues at all times). Meetings all day about company direction and architecture, then our norma

What if you bought btc with cash from a stranger on localbitcoins and put it into an empty wallet. How would anyone link those btc back to you? Unless the localbitcoin guy is an FBI agent or something...

While I agree with you, it’s an extremely hard job for the reasons he stated. Low pay, dealing with nasty people, doing demeaning work. It’s not exactly a career most people choose.

Thanks, but I meant as a foreigner you are less likely to be murdered. It is in their best interest to keep tourists safe and happy.

Many people are smart enough not to be swayed by fear based news. You’re 100x more likely to die in a car accident on your commute tomorrow than by a cartel member in Mexico as a tourist.

Then go to a regulated track and drive to your heart's content? I don't like the idea of people just 'clearing their heads' while driving a 2 ton box at 65 miles per hour.
