You speak as though Windows and Linux dont exist. Over 90% of the market use those operating systems. Did I misinterpret your comment, or do you really live in that much of a bubble?

Spain is extremely price sensitive at the moment. Android has around a 90% marketshare in Spain - largely driven by inexpensive Android phones. Windows Phone is gaining traction, and Apple are not even in the top 5 manufacturers.

There is a shocking amount of anti-hacker sentiment on this forum. There are so many people here that are desperate to make money out of the big new closed ecosystems that they are only too eager to badmouth open alternatives at every turn.

Oh I know its coming, but I'm still not 100% convinced its going to work. I cant think of any smartphone game I would want to play on my TV, other than games I wouldn't want to play on my smartphone. There just no overlap. I would

Because in the long term it is not working against their best interest. If I know that a store will not try to sell me stuff that is a poor match to my needs, then I know I can trust that store. When I go into a store that tells me to buy a

I don't think it is unreasonable for an Apple salesperson to try to sell the Apple product, but I think its even better if they choose and are allowed to recommend competitors when they have the more appropriate product. I was just cur

Some PCs have a good resale market too. Thinkpads hold their value well enough to use the same technique.

Out of curiosity, if a customer came in to buy a $1,500 machine, but what they really need is a $200 Chromebook, what would you do? EDIT: thanks for the down votes, but its an honest question. What if the customer comes in, and the solution

Corporate types like to be able to read documents sent to them via email on the train or in the pub. I have seen an impressive number of edits done to documents and long emails typed on blackberrys by people in the pub in the past. The proc

You still can't run OS X on non-Apple hardware can you? I'd love it if they changed that.

I was always impressed that Microsoft let you use Windows in a virtual machine on another platform at all (not all their competitors do). But then I realised that it made business sense for them.
