Tangentially related but what is the experience of introducing Sorbet into an existing Ruby codebase? How does it compare to rewriting Javascript code to Typescript? Does it provide benefits quickly or only after the whole thing is typed? A

The games are multiplayer and the server is authoritative. That doesn't mean the games can't be played with cheats, eg. wall-hack, auto-aim, etc.

It's slightly annoying that when I create a new game (for the browser) or think of ideas for games I inspect things through the lens of cheat-enabling. It happens to the point that I dismiss ideas based on the fact that there is no via

That's interesting - my girlfriend seems to very much fit the description. Would you say you have difficulty formulating full arguments in your head? Do you talk when you think by yourself? When "thinking" aloud by talking to

I still use CoffeeScript for every game I make [1]. I know it's very passée but every time I rewrite something from javascript it turns out to be much shorter and more readable. It's true that there is now many improvements availa

At least for the browser, current AR efforts all fail short of having low enough latency to allow the projections to "stick" to the marker area when the camera is moved. Another thing is the poor support for bigger, multi-marker a

That's true but the editor for babylon.js is very simple. There's a big difference between the two. Apart from the much better UI the Editor for PlayCanvas is well featured with things like uploading and auto-conversion of 3D mode

Very cool seeing PlayCanvas on HN! I've been using[1] their framework for a several years and I have to say it's the best out there. Only babylon.js comes close for 3d game engines for the browser but PlayCanvas has the Editor[2]

Do you think it's been proven enough to be sure that plant based diet is better in terms of GHGE than meat based diet? There are also health concerns that come along with cutting meat entirely from ones diet. Would you say it's ea

The author explained it quite well, I'd say. @strings».match(/.+/, :ex)».Str This is actually quite straightforward after being referred as the vector method call (basically map) and the other stuff is just function/oper

Since no one mentioned it. Sonic Pi[0] is probably the easiest to learn and quite powerful[1]. You program in Ruby and both the IDE and the API are quite simple to start with. [0] https://sonic-pi.net/ [1] https:/

For my games[1] I use a custom binary protocol which is not that difficult to pull off. Actually building a buffer with JavaScript's DataView[2] and ArrayBuffers produces very compact results since you're free to optimize the pack

I'm in the same boat - I much prefer Chrome web development toolkit - the feel and everything. The solution - I use Chrome _only_ for development.

I almost bought something from them but was met (at the very end of the whole process) with a huge standard shipment fee even though the FAQ said the shipment is free. Apparently there's a minimum amount that you have to pay to qualify

If you're learning with no guidance or your wheel is buggy you may fall down a couple of times but it's mostly very mild since you just jump off. Some injuries can happen if you get cocky and not careful but I've fallen down

I think electric unicycles are superior to electric scooters in most of the ways. If you're thinking about buying an electric scooter I'd recommend you to consider a one-wheeler instead. Once you learn how to ride, which takes abo

I wish the Withings mat would have the option to wake me up when optimal time comes. I had a fitness tracker that did that but it was very subtle and started working after a few weeks.

You can also - and this has worked very well for me - do a little affirmation in your head before you fall asleep. Just say to yourself a few times: "I'm going to remember (all) my dreams". This is super easy and very effecti
