Well put! I really like the streamlining/automation aspect of the gardening too (drip lines, etc), and the journaling/tracking year over year. Factorio is next in my queue. Cities: Skylines is my current go to.

I think the old adage "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" rings true here. After you burn yourself out a couple of times you'll see it coming a mile away, so you dial it way back until you're all caught up

I spent a lot of time overlaying provider coverage maps with Zillow listings. Sometimes listings will call out fiber internet or the name of a known provider. Google queries like rural fiber coop <state> should send you on a good path
