ooo, I was just about to choose thinkpad over xps mainly because of the keyboard. Does XPS have any advantage?

Anyone have an open source license place reader software? I always thought this would be good for a neighbourhood watch kind of project.

Universities are places of higher learning, not higher teaching. Professors are there to do smart things, teaching is not an important part of their job.

Is there a way to make notes on a phone and save to dropbox? Sounds good but I"ve never tried.

I used inoreader. I'm happy with free, but you're right I should start paying as I keep moving off RSS readers that get shut down.

Lyft is a little down. By the time Uber IPOs no one will want to touch it. Hopefully this is the end of dotcom boom II.

Changed to rocket. Most of us aren't writing code that will go to space, but most of us work with other parts of the business, and marketing, management, investors need agreed deadlines to coordinate with.

"So the rocket launch is planned for October, will the software be ready?" "Not sure, the software developer team doesn't like deadlines, they'll be finished when they feel like it."

Is today the first day you can short Lyft? Or could you do so on Friday already. I'm not sure of the mechanics of stock borrow right after an IPO.

It certainly is true if you keep changing jobs all the time. :)

NY is the same, just you'll get moved on if you try to set up camp on the street.

Yes, but surely this if fair right? There is a real problem with people subletting rent stabilized apartments. This helps to keep the apartment for those that are supposed to benefit.

I think one of the reasons lots of people liked Piketty is that he produced a huge book that most people didn't read but confirmed their bias, so he became some kind of hero. Taleb did a pretty good job of taking apart Piketty's w

Wow I never knew Bill Gates had a multi million dollar trust fund. Kinda puts the drop out of Harvard and start a software company with your friend in perspective. https://philip.greenspun.com/bg/

Pretty much every hospital globally. Its not great for the doctors, but if you're a patient with an acute problem its much better to have the same few doctors working keeping watch over you than a brand new doctor every 8 hours coming

Also people compare quality on price. If you want important live-saving treatment would you choose the cheapest or most expensive?
830.
by rb808 8y ago
Actually it wasn't a critically urgent problem but needed doctors attention. If someone wants an idea for an app or website - a way to lookup local ERs by price would be great.

by rb808 8y ago
$2k for major surgery, nice! Last time I went to ER it was $2k for the doctor's assistant to ask a few questions and put a band aid on.

One thing I do like about working in a hot desk environment is that its easy for people to move around regularly. Its nice to mix groups of people, work close with those your current project is with and even mix up your day. One problem wit

I really hate the keyboard on most laptops. XPS's I don't like and new macbooks seem the worst. Anyone recommend any? Thinkpads seem good, and many HPs.
