I really don't get the title of this. Why is it "beyond Clojure"? Maybe if we can see the actual talk it will be more clear.

Incomplete or completely lacking documentation for Objective C and Java, weird bugs, random disconnects. Overall it feels like the Ruby on Rails of networking - an opinionated package/framework that tries to do too much. Also, the whol

Can someone explain how is GRPC significantly better than WebSockets? I have used it for a few weeks and was very underwhelmed by it.

If I were you I'd explore a language that goes beyond those low level concurrency constructs because they can be extremely tricky to get right. Clojure and Elixir would be my top choices and the final choice depends on the kind of syst

I don't know if you can classify it as "good" concurrent programming but there's this https://github.com/krakjoe/pthreads EDIT "pthreads v3 is restricted to operating in CLI only" - from t

State-full things are always more complex, and I'd say their use is also niche (for example, state-full transducers where you can really shoot yourself in the foot since they grow infinitely in memory).

Here's a ClojureScript + core.async + Om + my own animation lib solution. No surprises, no weird bugs. Dead simple functional code + CSP = WIN! : ) https://gist.github.com/raspasov/e894a0c6c26e5814d752b3fc907... H

I completely disagree. I don't have experience with Elixir/Erlang/Mix but I've heard great things about them. One thing I'm sure though is that Leiningen and all its guides are second to none - read them https:

Here's a short story. I used to do a little bit of JavaScript. Initially it was easy. Functions! Easy enough. Vars! Cool. I get all of that. I wrote some code, worked. Wrote some more and it started not working as expected. I was curio

C is the king of raw performance, there's no denying that. But for the vast majority of high-level, user-facing applications today it's a bad fit. Clojure is more than fast enough for serious server side programming, often coming

Can't agree more. I feel like the reason why a lot of Lispers back in the day ended up re-inventing the wheel is not because of Lisp's "dark, seducing power" but simply because the tools and solutions just weren't t
