What a wonderful idea, putting your savings in an highly volatile currency! Have you ever heard about people buying gold to store value?

I did the same. Asked my employer to work 4-day weeks to lower the pressure after the stressful period during which we released our first product. Life satisfaction I get from that extra day off if quite huge, as I almost get twice as much

I backup this. I've been using SQLite for some low to moderate load CRUD apps, and this always worked like a charm. SQLite also make backuping, testing and moving apps so much easier.

I got the same feeling here. Implicits in Scala can act as statically checked dependency injection, I don't know why they are going for this runtime dependant injection instead.

You can't be sure that you are going to sell a good product, but you definitively know when you are going to ship a bad product. And a lot of "startups" are just selling bad products.

A generational GC is way more efficient than `std::shared_ptr`. `std::shared_ptr` is implementing a reference counting garbage collection, which is like the most inefficient way of implementing a GC. FYI: - Allocating memory in a generation

A single socket can be shared by multiple cores. That means that the kernel must both protect the socket descriptor from concurrent writes, and can't enforce a TCP link to be handled by a defined core (CPU affinity).

I implemented an highly-scalable user-space TCP stack as part of my Master's thesis [1], last year. One doesn't use an user-space network stack because the Linux's network stack is slow (it's fast), but because it doesn

Garbage collection is not slow. Actually it's probably the fastest dynamic allocation method. Allocating data with a copying garbage collector is O(1), which is as fast as allocating something on the stack, while malloc() is usuall
