Yeah, and loops are just (less powerful) syntactic sugars over jump instructions, too. Let's remove them and go back to IDE generated goto's !

This lock starts to be a bottleneck when you want to scale the Linux TCP stack over a large number of cores (8+). This patch could be an huge improvement. Because of the issues that this lock leads to, I had to implement an user-space, lock

Handling a lot of connection should not be an issue for the network stack, at there is no shared state between TCP streams. The bottleneck would rather located at the application layer, if resources are shared between connections. I do not

You're right about the idea, but a few hours is way too short, because of how the Human body tolerance to strong accelerations. Assuming an acceleration of 10 m/s^2 (similar to Earth's gravity), it will takes roughly one year

I love monadic error handling too, but not for the reason that the author cited. The fact that you know exactly what errors a function can throw is not an unique feature of monadic errors: in Java, you are required to explicitly list except

So 1 is not a feature, 4 & 5 are the same thing (and maybe a consequence of 3) while 2 can be remplaced by a single function. Seems like the only new feature are type hints. Looks like Hack has been rebranded as PHP 7.

You will always need a kind of GC if you start allocating things on the heap. This is because, in some cases, it's impossible for a human or an algorithm to know statically where a memory can be deallocated (you could solve the halting

If you are looking for a fast/realtime lossless compression algorithm, you should prefer lz4 [1] or lzo [2]. Nevertheless, an article comparing the speed and compression efficiency of these algorithms could be interesting. [1] https:&
