I was just about to write a comment stating that Quanta (and Nautilus as well) have amazing art in almost every article. One of the best visualisations I encounter.

I had similar problem few days ago. No threat for life but serious threat for my car - the route suggested was full of very deep holes. I've just tried to suggest a change, but as it happens often with Google documentation - the descri

Funny, because I've seen just one talk in 2020 and it was that one :) I'm not too much into talks and conference stuff, mostly because almost all the time I find the subjects of talks completely irrelevant, to specific, too genera

For me it's a quite distracting experience (the whole AR part, with glitches and lack of background). I think that well-done animation could be much better (and would't require more effort)

Sure, I completely agree. There are many fields where those technologies will be able to do great job. I just doubt the very big vision of "immersive revolution", as I think that most usages will be strictly for entertainment, and

I don't think that "immersive experiences" are going to play huge part in our lives. The other side of "immersion" is escapism from the real world, which is the most complex RPG, so "immersion" would be ra

What a great potential fictional character: enlighted & unpractial, free & lost. I suppose the real enlighted wouldn't ask himself (who?!). Maybe that's why they usually stay aside. But seariously: many forget that the goa

That's exactly my problem as well. I have GearVR headset which fits seversal Samsung smartphones and it's really nice to play around (and it's cheap), but the only piece of software written for WebVR is Three.js module, which

The only solution to mentioned problems is IMO: we'll have to adapt our environment to the moving machines. At least in early stage, before they will do it autonomously. Language will adapt more by itself (to make machines pass Turing

I've been practicing meditation for several years now. The phenomenon described in the article is very obvious to every practitioner - it can happen that for some time you will feel worse (actually I'm surprised that it's onl

The worst thing ever is end-book-notes (or end-chapter ones) in a paper book. I have the habit of "precise reading", e.g. I usually read books from first to last page without skipping information. The "end-notes rich" bo
