For GDPR the consent of all participants is missing. In a recent HN discussion some people were explicitly complaining about their chats getting published.

Here is a war story from the Harfbuzz dude: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wMPwVNBvsIriamcyBO5aNs7C... > It turns out, for many of the scripts we are interested in (Indic-like ones), we have to deal with a

No hinting? Isn't that bound to be ugly? I read some stuff from Behdad Esfahbod [0], author of Harfbuzz and thus one direct layer above Freetype. One article [1] illustrates well how ugly "iiiiiiiiiiii" will look without hint

I get the vibes that thrwaway69 does it professionally. Maybe some social media manager job? In that case a tabletop game club will not be helpful.

Sounds like we wait for some technologies to reduce the prototype cost by two orders of magnitude. What makes it so costly?

What would be the advantage of a wiki? To me it only seems to have downsides: Not using my local text editor and having to worry about web security. Why not just put some Markdown into a git repo?

The dump thing is a non optimizing compiler. GCC and LLVM contain many optimization phases. It is probably some normal optimization which is only "wrong" in the context of loop conditions.

I'd say both statements are correct. Compiler implementers are happy when they don't have to care about some edge case because then the code is simpler. Thus, only for unsigned counters there is the extra logic to compile them cor

Practically every compiler does formal verification. The type checking of C for example. The question is what properties you want to verify. It isn't a binary question but rather a continuum from C up to Isabelle/Coq.
