Yes. Retina MBP screen pop nearly cost me £450 a few years back. When the option was presented I bought a second hand Lenovo T470 for the same money and sold the broken MacBook Pro as is on ebay and took the kids out for a couple of days wi

Not really. Swapping just the screen out on a Lenovo unit takes about 5 minutes with a screwdriver and spudger. It doesn't matter what screen you put in it really so I don't get this point. If they did a retina one that fits in

Yes. WP34s is nice BUT again it is hopelessly inaccurate with a touch screen.

I tried about 30 calculator apps and they're just all terrible. I got used to using "dc" (rpn desktop calculator) at the command line on unixy things or python. In real life it's an HP35s. For phone I just ask Siri becau

Yep! Also an annoying one. If you accidentally click VoiceOver in the settings panel in macOS when your airpods are connected it fecks them into low quality mono mode. I really love my airpods but they stay tied to the phone now and I use a

Next yahoo mail hopefully. I’ve had to fight delivery problems with that steamer for about 15 years now.

When I ran a one man contract outfit is sign myself off as weird titles such as Grand Hegemon and Eternal Leader occasionally on emails to see if anyone noticed. Nope! No one gives a crap about your title apart from HR and your ego.

Yep. My father is one of them. Has cancer but it's driving a couple of diesel cars that did it, not the smoking for 60 years...

The canonical reference is by ICNIRP which references many studies at the end of the document. This is also actively reviewed based on new evidence all the time, which is the entire point of ICNIRP! https://www.icnirp.org/cm

I think the point is, to steal an ironic phrase, that the signal to noise ratio of issues is utterly insignificant. Nearly all the research is inconclusive and anything which is conclusive isn’t reliable. I don’t think that is enough to act

I suspect that worrying about ambient RF is causing you the problems rather than the ambient RF. some anecdotes: I worked in an office with a phone tower on the roof. A couple of people complained continuously about headaches and sickness a

Nope. Sorry my comment was a facetious stab at the lack of comedy here. It’s essential and lacking.

RISC OS is quite frankly dead in its current incarnation. And I say that as a somewhat prolific Acorn customer in the 80s and 90s. It was after all a quick hack because they weren’t going to deliver ARX. Some of the impedance mismatches bet

I’ve got a bottom end T495s which is mostly used as a terminal. The screen is 1080p but quite decent. I like the whole machine to be honest. I wouldn’t want to bet on a 1” smaller screen for a decline in quality with the X395

On the mark. My favourite failure mode for this is throwing lot of effort into porting a chunk of the rancid old monolith into microservices without decoupling. This ends up with a stack of microservices that handle 1% of the total revenue
