I hadn't read the original article, "The Future of JavaScript MVC Frameworks", and the article itself[1] is unreadable for what seems like either font or CSS issues. I made a pastie of the text with links to the text there fo

Profitable sure, but I'm curious what their plans for expansion on that profit is. At best right now, they can hope for $450m next year. Even if they got all of that, it'd take more than 30 years to make Facebook their money back.

Wait, they what? Bing and Surface I can understand to a degree, but they want Microsoft to kill Xbox, one of their strongest brands, and one of Microsoft's only hopes for differentiation? For what, to chase the smartphone game or somet

Y'know, I have seen Mr. Kay talk before, and I wouldn't regard him as an idiot. However, he's seemed to have missed the entire point Bill was making. > So what about China and India? Their recent growth performance has bee

I like it a lot. No hikes in my area(Minneapolis), and I'm not enough of a hiking buff to know anything(though I would like to be). However, beautiful design and good functionality to it. You say no paywalls or ads- what if this takes

I agree. Hence why I said I didn't think Apps were going anywhere either. Apps have a lot of really cool strengths. But killing the web- that's something people who have trouble seeing long term trends say.

I couldn't possibly disagree more. I don't think apps are going anywhere either, but I'd limit their days before I limit the web's. * As the web gets faster and gains more capabilities, it will encompass everything apps

The problem is, we don't know what a "successful push" is. For all we know, "success" is half the world becoming programmers. We don't know what our upper limit is on this yet, as we've never been close to

I've been watching Docker ever since Flynn was announced, and started using it seriously this last December. Primarily, I'm trying to use it as a faster alternative to Chef/Puppet, running it over a Vagrant precise64 box, to

Right, but none of those options are particularly fast. In Sublime, if I want to open my Gemfile(at root), I just go Cmd+T: Gem And it's selected. If I want to open my admin_controller, located inside of /app/controllers/

Sure, similar to Sublime's Cmd+T choice. The problem I have though, is that in Sublime I really can use that for near everything- even opening new files. You don't have that same option with Light.

Wow, this is fantastic stuff. Thanks for the explanations too- I've been doing Ruby/Python for awhile now, but I've always wanted to move more into Frontend Dev work, and I found a lot of this helpful.

This is what I've been exploring in the past couple of weeks. I love the frontside MVC framework position, and being able to build out a resource, hook it up as JSON, then just hop over to Go and recreate it with a clear goal in mind h
