When generating images also mix in a little blue noise to avoid banding effects. A simple lookup table goes a long way. I found it worked much better than adding uniformly random noise (white noise) to each pixel.

I’ve found something similar: to fall asleep visualise something vividly. It could be a scenario (a daydream as you suggest) or a scene. The steps go something like this: be still, relax face, stop thinking (or distract self with audio you’

I think I have the same chromebook model as you (Samsung Chromebook Pro). Do you have any tips or advice for trying it or anything else that will let me keep using the device?

Outside of the USA the point of university is education. Only in the USA have I seen the meme that the point of universities is something other than education. I’m still trying to work out how and why there is a difference. Can you help me

I bought a chromebook in 2017 that I love. AUE is up in a few months. The OS has improved leaps and bounds since I got it. I wish it would keep getting updates. Sadly it’s hard to flash a new boot loader as the write protect screw is in a d

I really wanted WezTerm to be the best terminal on macOS. However, when I tried switching from Kitty to WezTerm a month or so ago I found WezTerm’s latency was noticeably higher than Kitty and WezTerm often painted lines as blank in vim whe

How does closeFile get implemented? That is, how do you consume a linear type without having to either pass it to another function or return it? Does every linear value ultimately have to be passed to an extern function that doesn’t follow

You could certainly parse the file, and then insert/remove cells or their values. I don’t know if the app monitors the files for changes and then reloads on change or not. If not, I imagine you could modify the app to do so.

It’s a simple binary format. I’ve written a parser for it in python. https://gist.github.com/quag/e219f69670cd395d4a59a392557df28... An older version (v16) of the format is documented, but that was before zlib compress

Yes, vim’s “set undofile” will create a persistent undo file that stores all changes to the file indefinitely. You can undo changes made months ago over reboots. If you move the undo file between machines, you can undo on different computer

bzip2 often beats xz for highly regular data, like a big csv or jsonl file. So I usually try both approaches on those sorts of files. For everything else my go to is zstd or xz. Xz usually wins by a little, but is a lot slower. Zstd is grea
