That's a pretty big leap to go from that quote to what you wrote. You may be correct, but the article makes it sound like you have it on good authority. I might change the wording a bit.

Yes, try Simple HTML DOM: http://simplehtmldom.sourceforge.net/ Its a little light on documentation, but has a familiar syntax and handles malformed HTML. I've used it in a number of projects and its been great.

So someone open-sources code they wrote, and the author decides to insult them for it? And as if being an ass on HN wasn't enough, he regurgitated it on his blog and then resubmitted that to HN? Ugh. Parsing malformed HTML is a nightmare,

What caused TC to report this in first place? Seems like tips from Zynga's competitors who refused to take part in this. What's your source for that?

I don't blame you, and its really a shame because you do make interesting comments. I intended to reply in the original thread, but just didn't have the energy, so I'll do so now. You wrote: people call me arrogant, young, naive, and stupi

That's really interesting. I've always assumed it was a knowledge / teaching problem, but I'd forgotten how much the addition of mousewheels changed my entire browsing experience.

Not exactly, as I read it. In the Nielsen studies about the fold, I thought the takeaway was that users didn't realize they could/should scroll, and that this is no longer a problem. That doesn't mean that what content appears above the fol

Really interesting point. I feel the same way and didn't realize it. I've used Zoho's Sheet and Writer products, and both are excellent (they blow their Google Docs equivalents out of the water). But I've looked at their other apps, specifi

Second for HostGator. We've had a couple of issues over the years, but they've been handled quickly and professionally. If you want to have a support ticket escalated to Brent (President of the company) you just ask, and it actually happens

Bah! Ballmer does fine running Microsoft, you just don't like Microsoft. But I agree, he'd be a bad fit at most other F500 companies.

Zoho's response is cagy, but a bit off base. Zoho Sheet looks and feels a LOT like Excel (I haven't used the other Zoho products). I'd actually say "fake office" is pretty accurate (and a compliment).

Anti-trust laws basically says that if you have a practical monopoly on one area, you are not allowed to tie your products in that area with products in other areas. Its not that simple. Monopolies are not inherently illegal, they only be

If I understand it correctly, you can "have" more friends, as in you are aware of them, but we have a capacity of how many people we can truly care about at any given time. I don't know about 150, but this rings true for me. As I've aged, I

Not overall, but I have found Google frustrating for things that are very recent. For instance I wanted to watch Obama's speech to the schoolkids on YouTube (the day after he'd given it), but the only videos Google would bring back were fro

#15, "You May Have to Play Games", resonated the most with me. I think even though we all know this its still a bitter pill to swallow because hackers generally don't have time/patience for smoke & mirrors. I think this is why customer

IE6 sucks, blah blah, I get it. I still don't think there's any excuse for a web designer to ship a product that doesn't work with IE6. If its a truly huge web app, OK. But for most sites it shouldn't take a good dev more than an hour to fi

You could say that about any form of marketing. There are only so many cola drinkers to sell to, and if I market Coke it will be at the expense of Pepsi. Marketing is always an arms race (so is business in general). To take your lawyer anal
