Yes, BASIC was all the rage, 30 years ago. Today everything is Web and Cloud. I liked computers because I could make them do things which were cool then. Now I would probably want to do things which are cool now. As long as the kid is fine

The idea of Han unification doesn't seem right to me. Cyrillic alphabet for example got its own set of codes, even though some letters resemble Latin letters. But, even though those letters look the same, they sometimes sound different

I think it is, considering that hackers traditionally tended to value hacking above certain other mundane, authority-governed pursuits, as noted by the OP, and now she wants them to care.

Hey, I didn't want to say that you were taking favors from the guy. I reacted to your defense of him here on HN - you initially described him as awkward and sexist but later said that he was just treating you fairly. If he was awkward

Not sure, this seems to encourage hotplugging which can damage AT and PS/2 keyboards or motherboards. I think the real reason was: if (err) { puts(strerror(err)); puts("Press F1 to continue"); }

You are being generous, the article is complete bullshit. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A20_line And, of course, as pointed by sibling poster, the i8042 is on the motherboard, not in the keyboard.
