I agree with you, I just don't think it's fair that these assholes on wall street can make 4 million dollar bonuses at age 30 for getting lucky with gambling other people's money. I think it's great for everyone to have

Any time I start looking through the source code of one of these games, I wonder how I get paid in the same realm (sometimes even more) as a meager UI developer than these guys doing "real" engineering. Makes me feel dumb, but al

The truth is that the world needs a lot more software engineers than computer scientists. Yes, there are a lot of hard problems that are best solved by government or academic research, but there is a lot more software eating the world. An

I agree with the general sentiment. However, many studies have shown that selling slightly in the money, at the money or slightly out of the money puts on the S&P 500 actually beats it's returns over the long run. This is because

I think you missed "selfishly motivated". Not all societies place emphasis on the individual. Those that do move towards capitalism; those that don't move toward communism. Obviously there are many shades of each, but indi

Actually capitalism has no point. It's just the natural system free and selfishly motivated societies develop overtime--it needs regulation to ensure that the utility produced is allocated towards the common good

The theory is that since they have high gross margin they are only losing money while they ramp up to scale. In some time in the near future, they should employ economies of scale to have decent operating margins. Selling dollars for 90 ce

The VC industry is largely a scam. VC funds underperform passive investment in the S&P 500, and greatly underperform similar risk asset classes such as the Russel 2000.

I agree, I'd actually much prefer 30 or 35 to 40-50, but our society isn't set up well for that. There are tons of employers who will pay you market rate for normal effort --- normal being defined as 40-50 hours/week of dili

Great article. More people need to stand up to their bosses when long hours are requested day in and day out. I had a chat with my boss just the other day after I was forced to work all weekend. I told him, if it happens again, I'm
