Coz I have always done coding this way with humans I started out using LLMs to do simple bits of refactoring where tests could be used to validate that the output still worked. I did not get the impression from this that LLMs were great cod

Moreover, saying that consistency is more important than good design is like saying that eating leafy greens is more important than a good diet.

It was about how I expected a straw man written by somebody who fully bought into the AI coding hype. Especially the part about somebody completing a project quickly being depicted as "cheating". Absurd.

BDD is different, it is a way of gathering requirements. As is, SDD it is some sort of AI nonsense.

Hopefully once this AI nonsense blows over they'll reach the same realisation they did after the mid 2000s outsourcing craze: that actually you gotta pay for good engineering talent.

It'd actually be easier for a government app to verify identities and (especially if mandated by law) protect your anonymity. The private sector is great at lots of stuff but running a clean marketplace isnt one of them - the incentive

Back when I first studied this 20 years ago the progenitors predicted it would get very popular one day. What actually happened was that some programming languages borrowed a few concepts and life carried on as before.

Spray painting a panzer tank in 1939 with "free the jews" would have been a pretty much identical form of "terrorism". Nobody killed, no real damage done. Obviously the Nazis back then would agree with modern far right t

I find it amusing that once you try to take LLMs and do productive work with them either this problem trips you up constantly OR the LLM ends up becoming a shallow UI over an existing app (not necessarily better, just different).

It's like watching somebody argue that code linting is going to change the face of the world and the rebuttals to the skeptics are arguing that akshually code linting is quite useful....
