Definitely. We still have this unfair situation today, where "founders" get most of the upside, and "founding engineers" hired immediately after get ~1% or less.

Anything you can think of that's made of plastics was, prior to the mid 20th century, made of metal, ceramics, glass, fabric, or wood. You'll realise these materials are usually much less suited to the task. In aggregate, the poly

My take is that 10+ years ago, the average Google or Amazon engineer would have been comparatively more offended to see so many fake products, reviews, websites, fake everything on their platforms. Today, they see all this as someone else&#

They had to believe 100% in the assembly-line strategy, in order to work on this in the first place, and to sell it to investors.

For some reason, every startup that gets a modicum of traction immediately attracts copycats. Most of these don't get very far.

You are correct that the pivot to industry is not particularly fairly to the rest of the user base. Not only that, but it was not very sound business-wise either. RPi's stable, rock-bottom, "cost-plus" pricing policy is great

Weird that we keep hearing that tech is overstaffed, when literally every other sector reports labour shortages. My hunch is that many tech cos will soon realize that they're short-staffed too, and will have to start to hire again.

A good MVP consists in releasing something a few people desperately want, rather than something many people vaguely like. So right now, I'm not sure they're going at it the right way.

No, a degree in physics today is at least as demanding as it was back then. For instance, the topics discussed in the article, quantum mechanics and practical optics, are requirements in any physics degree I know of.

This. It's been a buyers market in the last decade. If employers were really struggling to hire great engineers, they wouldn't be "playing with their food" so much.
