This is a really good article that does a great job of outlining burnout in the design and development industry, and reiterates why I got out of the service side of it in favor of: startups. Service-oriented design/programming just doesn't

I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case pre-December 2008. In December, Apple lifted the gate on farting apps for all the flack it was receiving for rejecting them. Around the same time about ~6 massage apps landed on the store. AppSto

I agree with you but I know first hand that Google Checkout and PayPal offer a first tier of defense against it, you pay for it in the higher fees. For some people and depending on the state of their business, it's probably worth the time-s

About 3 months ago when we made a novelty app that turned your phone into a massager, it was originally called "Happy Ending". They rejected it for the sexual innuendo so we changed the name to Pocket Massage (lol), which was consistent wit

I'm going to go against the grain of this post and say that a merchant account isn't for everyone. I was surprised the author did not mention one of the big drawbacks to merchant accounts: fraud and charge backs. PayPal and Google Checkout,

Advertising always has been, and always will be, a black art. The percentage of time, effort, and money that works for one company might fail dramatically for another. I disagree, the great ad agencies have been around for decades... far

I bootstrapped our mobile software company simply because I knew we would turn a profit within the first month of sales (which we did, 3-5x ramen profitability :)). The problem, however, was that most people just aren't built for startups.

What an appropriate article for some thoughts I've been having recently around a 'founder's syndrome' I've experienced in two consumer tech startups. I've found myself saying this a lot lately, "consumers are not rational" and "you're over-

Our web traffic for a free iPhone/Touch app suggestions quite the opposite. The device is already a PC in the most pockets of teenagers, it's only a matter of time really before screens get larger, and battery power is realized to its full

My fault, I made an ASSumption about the articles message but I understand that nationality != race, I live in America after all. :) Nevertheless, I still believe articles that promote racial pride keep racism alive.

That's kind of my sentiment but mostly because I believe stories like this keep the idea of racism alive. Does race really have anything to do with the 101 individuals from XXXX country? No. This post lacks substance on many levels. I would

Wow, this could be massive for indie game developers but I'm not exactly up to snuff on browser-based 3D tech. Would love to collab and build a web game if anyone is interested, we're working on a game but for the iPhone / iPod Touch.

It's also worth noting that you're not wasting your time. When a designer and developer are working TOGETHER (ie: they understand each other), it's clockwork. You're learning how he thinks, and it will only make you both a better developer
