Very interesting read. It's not only a problem with mathematics though, it's nearly every subject in school, whether it's science, languages or math. It seems to me that the problem is that to teach well, you need good, auton

You're not alone. Although it's never been as bad as not being able to do arithmetic, I can't seem to get a job doing those kinds of interviews. I was close once at Microsoft, after having done 8 hours of coding and linear al

I'm working at a big company where most employees have worked for a very long time. On my team, besides me, the person who has worked the shortest time is 9 years. The next one after that: 15 years. Most managers and senior engineers h

As someone who's not familiar with payments, how often do chargebacks generally occur, and why are they so expensive?

Apple products, actually. I count 8 Macs, 3 iPads and one iPhone. I understand why though, Apple products look good. I wouldn't want to put a Dell Inspiron in my ad.

Well, I suppose that is the danger in going with an idea that is simple to execute and that doesn't have some kind of networking effect.

As a single developer on a project, I use js on the front-end, NodeJS and CouchDB (views written in js). This means that every step of the way is js, json and http, which is extremely liberating for me, as someone who's just starting o

Internet coupons are different from physical coupons. You can potentially find internet coupons by searching the web for 20 minutes, while if you're at the checkout at the grocery store, you're not going to go all the way home, lo

I don't really like Facebook, but those are non-problems really. I have about 250 connections, which I guess is pretty average or to the lower end. In the past, I would actively go through the list and purge people who I only met a few

Can't more than agree on that. It's partly because there are no strong positions in an industry as volatile as consoles, so leveraging any perceived strong positions is probably a recipe for disaster.
