Yeah for sure. My point is just that fairness in the Olympics is fake and always has been. Someones Chromosomes are such a poor way to measure their physical abilities especially when the bar is so high for top athletes in the field.

Boxing is often the example given because its someone getting hurt, but when you actually break it down it also falls apart for boxing. If we measured everyones strength, bone density, etc... in order to stop people from risking injury that

The differences between cisgender bodies are already so varied that the logic falls apart almost immediately. For that matter why not restrict rich athletes who have access to training and equipment that poor athletes do not? The point at w

Sure, but any test that requires something painful like a spinal tap requires someone to already be in a dire state. What I mean is if it could be done through a blood test prevention would be much easier to test for without needing to have

None of it is enforcable, its basically meaningless. Great job politics! Like lots of laws that are being written nowadays by octogenarians, aimed at strong arming bigger tech companies into designing things differently at the expense of ev

They do not care. End qualified immunity and see how fast cops start to do their jobs with care. Winning a lawsuit literally ends in your own community members (not the cops) paying the bill.

I think part of the problem is that we decided at some point that 18 is an age where you become an adult, which for some things in life is honestly way too young and for some things maybe too old but nuance is hard. It seems to me that givi

Aside from the fact that legislating how operating systems can be designed is an extremely bad idea, I don't understand how you can create state laws for ubiquitus or open source software that aren't an absolute joke.

Yeah if only we could really own anything online, unfortunately its basically all rented. This is what excited me about distributed technologies but fighting capitalism is hard.

I agree the distinction doesn't matter, but im not so sure "just" having a human in the loop qualifies as an ethical stand. Just because your not pulling the trigger doesn't make you not culpible for the outcome.

I dont neccesarily disagree I was just dissapointed at the low effort post. As someone who has been excited at the proposition that we could allow non technical folks to make complex apps without needing to raise money I was interested in r

I would be fine with this if they fixed the wildly buggy browser extensions. The number of times my preferences have been wiped after an extension update is maddening.
