Whenever I see these form frameworks the first thing I do is click the label to ensure it focuses the input field. Aaaand pass, good job!

Yep totally agree. The number of times I've pasted into a WYSIWYG editor and discovered a mess of nested divs that came along for the ride...

It's tough because you don't want the formatting...until you. If I'm editing text that has a few bolded words I'd be immediately annoyed if the pasted text didn't have the bolded instances.

I used to tell people WP is a solid base to build your website if you know what you're doing, but with Gutenberg and not knowing how much longer the Classic Editor plugin will be supported I keep my WP praise to myself.

Interesting seeing the right losing their collective minds over this Hunter Biden laptop story but completely dismissing all of Trump’s kids getting in trouble with the law. Trump’s kids, who were all given cushy government jobs.

I should add I love the auto SSL, I have no idea why nginx hasn’t added this feature yet. I’ve used lua-resty and it isn’t exactly trivial to set up.

I wish Caddy went all in on the caddyfile and dumped the JSON. The meagre examples are split between the two formats, it’s tough trying to figure out how to do something that’s not straightforward. Even worse when you find out some config

I hope we eventually figure out how to replace the internal SSD in the Mac Studio. I was able to replace it in my 2013 iMac and it extended the life another four+ years.

If I have it generate a “bowl of soup” will I find an identical bowl in some clip art collection somewhere? How much does it deviate from the source images?

Is flagging/moderation on HN also included in your free speech world view? Do you believe you should be able to walk into any television station and step in front of a camera? Free speech is not free soapbox.

God bless Let’s Encrypt. I used to tell my clients they need to cough up $100+/year for a cert and jump through a bunch of hoops to get it working. Now it’s built into the UI of many of the control panels I use and I simply click a b

The metaverse is complete bullshit. Take a medium that inherently has no limitations, then create artificial limitations and monetize them. It’s awful.

With their browser based on Safari and their search engine using Google’s index, DDG just feels like a rebranding exercise. It would be nice to get some real competition.

Yes you enjoyed Bruce Lee and Bad Boys because they were a novelty. Now ask yourself why were they a novelty. Because it's a medium full of white people. >Also, FYI, your comment is racist garbage, Not a stretch to assume someone w

I don't mind these on mobile. You can argue that part of the menu is cropped out, but with a hamburger menu everything is cropped out. You can at least put the most important stuff at the beginning, one less click for visitors in m

I fancy myself a fairly tech savvy guy, but I find the UI a little confusing. If you want to read a tweet you click on random white-space between other elements. It’s weird.
