With a preposterous amount of Facebook users all across the world, I think we are all projecting our personal experience on millions of others to make a value judgement. I personally get nothing out of it. How is it positively changing your

How many "Why everyone should learn to code" articles show up on Hacker News? The same idea applies to design thinking. It will make you more powerful. User centered problem solving methodologies and visual communication abilities will help

I mostly agree with you. Many UX professionals I have worked with are almost proud about the fact that they don't have hands on experience with software development or visual design. They are the worst of both worlds. That being said, I don

The larger the organization, the less true that is. If you are working on a small product team, you should most definitely get your hands dirty with (some of) the front end development. If you work at an agency or as a freelance consultant

UX design tools and processes are definitely lagging behind right now. The annotated wireframe document created in Visio, InDesign, OmniGraffle, etc. is still the norm. The closest thing we have to a solid prototyping tool is Axure ( http:/

This is rarely (if ever) mentioned in all these articles claiming that coffee is so beneficial. I drink a fair amount of coffee and try to cut back frequently because of this issue. It isn't just that coffee makes me crap more, it degrades

I much prefer the value I get from O'Reilly. No DRM. Any format I could want. The PDF is especially useful for technical material.

The thought of making email more like a todo list is terrifying to me. I try to move valuable information and tasks out of email and into trusted systems that are designed specifically for those purposes as fast as possible. Testing out thi
