One of my favorite facts is that merely relighting the engine provides enough thrust to lift the rocket (at its minimum throttle of 60%). This means that it must slow to a standstill, cut the engines and hit the platform at exactly the same

I have had a similar experience - finding out what is really going on with my iDevices always ends up being a giant time-suck. Things do seem to "just work" as long as you don't go looking too far - which, I imagine, is wh

I have found there is a strong correlation between people who suck at email and people who suck at realtime chat. It appears that not many people have learned (or been taught) to value other peoples' time in regards to this sort of com

It may be, but the above poster also left out one of PHP's strengths - availability. It's already running and ready to go on whatever cheap shared host you've been on for the last 20yrs. Ruby/Rails likely isn't.

With most current note-taking systems, the sync is near-real-time - which, is super handy when moving from the conference room or on-the-go on your phone to your desk/laptop during the day - an overnight sync in that scenario doesn

Your San Francisco Bay Area population is way off - I'm guessing you actually mean San Francisco proper (not the entire SF Bay Area). Checking my former zip codes it does not seem to extend out into the East Bay yet.

It's good that you managed to intervene - I know a lot of Dell owners that are not well equipped to handle these sorts of calls. Hopefully the worst that comes of it is a small fee. At least it is good to see word getting out - that i

I completely agree. I returned to Boston after 10 years away and was floored by the transformation. I see it as flushing away a huge amount of technical debt that we had incurred over the last 100 years, hopefully setting us up for moderni

I have worked with APIs in the past that would only make masked account numbers or last 4 digits available. Stripe is a great example - after the initial card is created, everything is tokenized, and they only allow you to pull the last 4 d

I believe CurrentC's (Paydiant's) QR code tokenization works the same as you've described Apple Pay tokenization - the merchant POS does not see any payment info other than a one-time-use token. This was another decent teardo
