“For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water havi

Interesting point you raise. I enjoy listening to Sovietwomble on Twitch, he just speaks relaxed like a radio host (he often mentions this as his inspiration) and he verbalizes what he is doing or thinking.

First, I agree with the reprogramming. But in my experience, the goals shouldn’t be to as you state “to change their minds.” , it should be to listen and respond. If I disagree with you, I want to know how you came to that conclusion , I

Could you use other words for uncertainty? Say randomness or is random something different, more chaotic perhaps.

Would it be possible to crowdfund housing projects? I have seen some examples in europe where you buy into a housing with your savings. Development is complete done through collective desires of the fund.

I would file that under A. There is a massive market now that would see any devaluation as bad (they bought into the investment scheme)

I see three comments saying it was there before 9/11, but really, the fear dial was amped to 11 then. It was a milestone in that sense. Furthermore, journalism changed dramatically. Instead of more open ended questions, especially TV i

I think society as a whole should have a long and in depth discussion on piracy in the first place. Piracy in the digital age is a weasel word used by vested interests. For instance datahoarding could be seen as a service to society. There

No argument pro or against, I honestly don’t know. The point being that it will be annoying enough to get rid of it (in some places at least)

Yes, thank you! This end of the year period is good to reflect on the coming year and make some changes (if necessary).

I agree, AI is like that long flash intro you couldn’t skip in the early website days. Just annoying enough to disrupt any actual commentary (aka true exchange of ideas)

Interesting discussion. My solution has been to sell myself as a troubleshooter. So I usually see patterns and solutions that others do not and in such a case can bring something to table where people get stuck. A troubleshooter sounds very

What is good solution for hosting a domain anonymously? I want to start blogging but don’t want to do a personal one just yet. I mean anonymous in lightweight general sense, not political activist super security.

My amateur theory is that talking makes you less likely to be a predator. You basically say “here I am”, Predators tend to be quiet and sneak up on their prey. I think the tone does indeed help somewhat in my experience.

What we want is not what we get unless it makes bank. Nobody (generalizing here) works to better humanity, they work to get money. if it aligns well that’s just shear luck. The world needs a lot more people who want see the world to succeed

What I often find is this “ought to know” treshold. Parent comment user is probably familiar with lingo you are not. Documentation often assumes a certain level and a writer does not imagine a less capable user.

It’s typical of certain areas in tech (like here) to not document, to not care about up to date information, and only as a last resort. You need people who can manage that and create a culture of documenting.
