keep in mind that the alternative for flash is downloading a script from who knows where and running it on the same scope as the page. for each ad. it is the exact same thing. No matter if they moved away from flash or not. they still would

as with any of those things, it all depends on the specific of which industry you are, your size, your market, etc. there is absolutely no way you can say it is better for one side or another.

you forgot they are running a multi trillion dollar industry on free-as-in-beer software. I doubt they would pay $5 per user. or even a <your yearly salary> year flat fee. and since they will not pay, you will have to run it on ads. A

most desktop clients (mutt included) almost died when everyone moved to gmail and such. imap/pop access was too expensive (when compared to having a so-so UI for free) or not available. now that gmail and yahoomail give imap for free,
