Yeah - keep on reading Vox and feel enlightened. You literally are the reason why poor publications like Vox get a free pass. Here, if you don't believe me, read this thread and check yourself ( https://twitter.com/balaj

No one is dying here. It is a general observation about what is going on with HN users. And if you can't see the overtly anti-corporation nature of the users here, I can't say much.

Stop ordering from Amazon if you really feel so strongly about this. No point making all this grand-stands while on the other hand, you will just goto Amazon for your needs. That is the real way to hurt them.

Stop quoting Vox as if they are a reliable news source. They are the ones who mocked tech workers initially for taking COVID seriously: https://www.vox.com/recode/2020/2/13/21128209/coronavirus-fe...

Oh please. Once you have very high volume and strong market share you can gradually increase prices to improve profitability.

What risk is an accountant sitting in SF City Hall taking? High risk positions - sure give them more security. Otherwise, treat them like everyone else. Also, people goto govt jobs because of job security as well - which is also a factor in

Bunch of random engineers in this thread talking about business when they have no clue how companies are run. Yes- Uber was making loss before. But their ridership was growing and they were giving incentives on the supply side (drivers) to

Look at the unemployment rate. What else validation do you need? You can't just ask people to stay locked in their homes and assume everything would be ok.

lets pick one negative example and generalize that. this is because apple has never really shipped good products.

It is fine. You need to educate yourself more on how companies like Factual get their hands on location data. If you think Facebook flouted privacy rules, you haven't seen anything yet.

This is never a good argument. We can't let these smaller companies completely flout all privacy/tracking rules just so that they can sustain. The model is broken to start with.

Apple needs to deprecate IDFAs and the business models of all these location tracking apps will come crumbling down. If you can't identify users, then the point is moot.

DO you realize that these are car manufacturing companies trying to figure out how they can build ventilators. To build based on existing know-how will likely be incredibly expensive and prohibitive. As such, it is reasonably to expect them

Yes - of course. Tesla and GM shouldn't even try to help out because obviously they will build the wrong thing. What BS. Take your cynicism elsewhere. You literally are the living embodiment of my point above.

I knew someone at Hacker News will make a comment like this. Hacker News is cynicism at its finest. "I can't imagine any hospital or doctor careless enough to connect one of these to a patient, even in this current emergency."

Just stop with this billionaires argument please and framing it as workers vs. billionaires. I am more talking about families who will have to pay more now to address some of the Union's demands.

The Audi MMI system consisting of a central dial is still the most intuitive and least distracting of all car systems I have seen in the market. And, as a bonus, it also works really well with Android Auto and CarPlay - without touchscreen.

Whether you like it or not, the fact here is that it isn't clear whether Google resisting or AGs demanding docs is the right thing here or not. So stop being so melodramatic about it and using such strong words.
