I wonder if 'net saving' here includes businesses/government or just households. Noah Smith wrote a nice piece here https://www.noahpinion.blog/p/great-news-about-american-weal... breaking down Federal R

Oh that makes sense. I thought the suggestion was referring to individuals and not corporations - eg "individuals should buy a license if they earn more than $80k/year" or something. That seems tougher to enforce.

Steel manning here, the outcome is unfortunate because presumably these projects have positive externalities (benefits accruing to people other than other than whoever is paying, if anyone) and so the optimal funding for them from a social&

I know that this article is probably 'objectively good design' in some way, seeing as its written by front-end experts of some sort, but I found the content much tougher to read and digest than a much plainer format. All the diffe

Seems like it might now become much easier to post a clip on YouTube that looks like an authentic BBC clip, logo and all. If generative AI gets that good, how will you be able to tell whether a particular piece of media comes from a trusted

I think there's a big difference between a walking commute and a driving commute. I'd welcome a 15 minute walking commute each day - even while WFH I like to take a 15 minute walk up and down my road before starting my day because

I think this is country specific. F1's service in the US is great, but the NFL international game pass isn't available to people who live in the US, it's not as easy to watch domestically.
