As for what he's doing, I think it's pretty transparent. He thinks Xs are really, really cool. And perhaps that bird-themes aren't very cool. He loves the idea of an everything app 'like they have in Asia'. And he&#

The method we leaned on (with success) was a one-page PDF shared by another parent. So many books of this sort are a bullet-point list fleshed out to justify the sale price, and little else. Case studies and history and whatever else.

I think it's a decent point. Maybe we generalise from "the sort of people who read books" suggesting it's something virtuous. Or we have certain books in mind (rather than trashy romance novels). Reminds me a bit of the

I have a Go 2. It’s interesting but the workflow is pretty tedious. I find that unless something is shot and on my phone, or shot on a proper camera for a client and thus worth ingesting and editing, anything else is just painful. GoPro, Os

This sounds exactly like the sort of walk my wife and I end up doing when abroad. "Doesn't look that far on the map. Let's just walk it, get our steps up. It'll be fun!" End up choking on fumes the entire way...

Why is there so much rage there? I can't understand how anyone has the spare time (and willingness to needlessly burn fuel) over petty traffic incidents like that.

"I walked from the Mountain View train station to the Googleplex once. Nobody does that twice." Why's that? Long, boring, no footpaths, dangerous?

You see commentary like that almost anywhere in the west where housing/etc has outpaced salaries in recent decades. A lot of US Reddit comments on lifestyle affordability split quite drastically into earning-well-going-great and how-do

In the same way that Spotify bought podcasters, I wonder if Netflix or a new competitor could lure creators from YouTube. There are some great, quality solo or small-team creators on YouTube that could increasingly anchor a platform.

I think people are paying for content, but the majority are watching more pulpy stuff. I love showing my kids documentaries, but even the majority of those now are a bit unbearable with over the top voiceovers, etc.

They contacted me recently about licensing one of my photos, but the amount offered was pretty weak and not worth the invoicing and transactional emails.

If there are fewer people, won't there be less competition for housing and thus affordability would improve somewhat? If you need to spend less on a mortgage or rent, you may not need to work as much, or a single income couple might be

The comments I've mostly seen are people saying that when the pixel density gets there, they'll jump on it or at least be very keen to try it. It hadn't taken off because we've been yet to reach that point. 2024 could be

IMO, a full blown cooking app is just a distraction. It could be the "travel app" of this platform and safer for any sane developer to ignore. A developer doesn't need to make a killer app, just supplementary apps that people

More than a couple of apps. I'd guess there are a handful of viable opportunities in each of many categories - music, productivity, particular game genre, etc. Many developers will port existing iOS/Mac apps, even if just to wor

I agree with this. Meta's attempts are currently limited because the sticky use cases seem to be fitness and a little bit of gaming. When you have a device that is viable for some level of work, it's a somewhat easier sell. Apple

Did they say thriving? They will be the initial foray. There will be enough of a market for early creators (like Apple TV which had small numbers) but reduced competition. The early creators will have some return, reputation and experience

If you are an early developer for a platform, you get an outsized share of users that can be a reasonable advantage. We developed for AppleTV when it was first opened to general developers and were able to rank well in a key category by ada
