We really wanted Backblaze to work. However, there's not a single week it doesn't have downtime at least once or twice. It's really really not ready for production usage (trust me - we've tried in production and had to r

The report mentions that "Six victims were later recovered by divers". I can't imagine how terrifying it must be to a diver when he actually finds a dead body underwater. I guess there's no amount of experience that dese

I'd love to be able to visit Disney Imagineering. Much more than the Disney parks themselves actually.

Blog posts like this (instead of endless YouTube sponsorships like their competitors do) are what made me choose them as my VPN service.

I agree. OP's comment could be quickly rewritten into something useful and just by changing the tone, for example: "26.8% fewer search steps than standard A∗ search" For reference of prior art, it's slightly better than

The sample images are absolutely stunning. Also, I was blown away by the "Stable Diffusion" written on the side of the bus.

I do not concur. JSON might not be perfect for e-mail (it isn't?) but it's great for a huge range of use-cases. It's a great achievement of our species.

Sorry to disappoint you, but historically a majority of progress bars in UI have shown either fake progress or a huge jump between low and high % of completion.

I visit HN daily more times I'd like to admit and I hadn't seen it before. If OP gets some karma every time he posts it, like he did from me this time, what's wrong with that?

As someone who just took delivery of a BYD Song Plus, I can say I’d be very, very worried if I was BMW’s CEO. And yes, I’ve owned 5 BMWs before this new BYD.

Kudos for mentioning Back to the Future. When I was 8/10 yo, I could recite all the lines from the first movie up to 15 min or something. I really, really loved it.

I really wished Backblaze B2 worked better to be a real alternative to S3. The pricing is a middle finger to AWS and other providers. However, we were having 1 outage per month with B2, and in the middle of 2023 we decided to go back to AWS

On a side note, I really wish I could learn to tell exactly if a new feature like this is already supported in a project I'm working. babel.config.js is just a mistery to me. @babel/present-env, targets: { node: 'current'

In my experience this is almost never the case. #supports_feature? would be defined right there where you'd expect - in that Subscription model. Even tough you can reach for metaprogramming (like define_method or method_missing), that&
