Relevant: http://david-smith.org/iosversionstats All platforms (on iOS 6): 87% iPhone: 93% iPad: 78% iPod touch: 80% I'm a bit surprised as to why % of iPads running iOS 6 is so low. I mean, IIRC ~150M iPads were sold

Your average karma is 24, so your comments are weighted much, much more than others (it's one of metrics HN uses to rank comments). Also, your comment is long, which is also a factor (though, not a big one). Source: experience :)

It's annoying, but isn't an edge case. Lots of people use US stores (because it has more content) and gift cards. And, as it's stated in the FAQ [1], SMS option is only available in those countries at the moment, regardless of where you're

I have a slow machine for now (2009 MBP), and Cappuccino is dog slow on it. I'd try it again in a heartbeat once I get a faster machine, but for now, it's literally (and I'm using that word right) unusable. A 30+ second delay after I save a

My Bad. I meant Rails (which is huge)! Though Sinatra isn't very small either. It has a few thousand commits.

I have a slow, old MBP (2.53 C2D), and it's very fast, even on big repos (like Sinatra). So maybe your settings are wrong, or something. It's worth investigating if you use ST regularly IMO :)

And please join http://contrastrebellion.com/ and do $('article p').css('color','#222') so we can read the article. bgcolor is now #717171, which is just crazy. Anything below #444 is just harmful for the eyes.

There's lots of instances like if (something....) return !0; else return !1; is there any reason why they aren't simply using `true` and `false`? (because !1 is defined to return literally `false` and !0 to retu

It's not a question of attitude, or meanness - Microsoft is a monopoly in desktop OS, so they must obey antitrust laws. Apple is not, so they don't have to do anything.

In general, I agree with you. But in this specific case, we may not be able to extrapolate Linux/LLVM's success to web. Yes, you can create a toy kernel for yourself. You don't have to be POSIX-compliant from day one, or run OS/2 apps, or

Have you tried OmniFocus? The Mac client is just fantastic (if you take the time to learn and customize it). And v2.0 (due in seversl months) is even better. Of course, you have to learn GTD system to get the most out of OmniFocus. It's som

Thanks for the link. Maybe I try Erlang after all... But a question: It says it's using Erlang 13B. Do you recommend using a newer version, or trying to compile/finding an old binary version of 13B? (I mean, is Erlang 16 compatible with 13,
