Interestingly(?) I haven't seen an add on reddit in a long time. And that is without adblock. There used to be Amazon ads fairly regularly a while back, but now all I see are pictures of burgers, adverts for subreddits, flash games and 't

And for some people a bike is acceptable (friends have a car), but i don't compare it to the price of a car. This is an ivy bridge with a full HD screen, dedicated graphics, SSD option. Chances are it will be faster than the current MBP. It

Very impressive hardware design from Asus: full-HD display and dockable GPU too, remaining impressively thin and all from 11". Although I can see it seriously struggling with heat (noise?), battery life and price. Will be very interesting t

Along with their apparent restriction of the 'desktop' on arm, this is the reason I lost interest in windows8 on arm. So far a linux + android solution (like ubuntu have demonstrated) seems more powerful and very will also have more apps to

I believe the windows 8 naysayers will be proved very wrong, people will come to love windows 8, at least on the desktop. Take the start screen.. people are struggling to come to terms with it, but conceptionally it is so much better. Ta

That video does almost nothing to show windows 8 is less easy to use. All this takes is to say 'go to the bottom left'. Windows 8 is not littered with things like this.

I am no expert, but I thought the weakness of tor was that a goverment could control many of the exit nodes (combied with timing attacks to find the user?), since most users don't want to run them for fear of being arrested for whatever the

So many comments and no-one could manage any praise? It matches the real-life cost of the Rpi, probably will have general availability around the same time, and has double the memory and a little onboard NAND. It may not be perfect, but rem

Opera has been ahead of the curve for features virtually forever (currently: tab stacking, right click anywhere to add search, and 'g searchterm' syntax). It is also much more memory-efficient than chrome/FF with many tabs. I think it has

My understanding was it was a 'fake' in that it offered 0 more than vanilla chromium in terms of separation from google/privacy (although chromium is a pain to update- and even somewhat difficult to find downloads for).

This is, essentially, how language itself has always worked. Common sense labels are applied to things, and they make them things their own and outlive the original reference. A tin (can) is still a tin despite the fact it has nothing to do

Agreed. I'm pretty sure it must have been a legal decision.. (or perhaps a poor strategic one)-- the amount of bandwidth wasted on unnecessary videos must be huge-- i'd wager at least half the video-hours 'watched' on yt are actually audio.
