The memo itself debunks most of what you're saying here - and the insane thing here is that people like you are opposing other's rights to even state an opposing theory. You're not arguing against the memo so much as you are

You're on the wrong side of this thing - it is insanely silly to imply someone should be fired from a tech company for a "theory he posited" (your words). How about some references for your second paragraph. I've seen st

Pretty sure that if I posted statistics outlining my so-called "flamebait," then I would be equally in trouble. This is an article outlining how violent buddhists are (yes it is framed that way) - and my comment was a reply to som

Roger that... and my post even using the word Islam got flagged and I'm told what I wrote is against the rules here at HN.

Haha that's what the fad is becoming! I've been to many "nomad" cities and always avoid meeting so-called nomads - and cringe when I see one in a cafe who brought 2 external monitors and is having a "standup" c

Exactly, we're going to need a replacement for Google's vanilla Android soon. You can't even take off the Google Now bar - which takes up significant space on all workspaces!

Would love a mix between workflowy and Google keep. Ideally, a web app with mobile clients that has an open source server side that you can either pay to have hosted or run yourself :)))

Think they should probably drill into dozens of small volcanoes first to prove that doing so can't set them off?

I had a load of problems when I first installed it and tried to migrate. A main issue was that it took a while for the "migrate" function to appear in the Chrome app.

The loudest most outspoken people are rarely the people we need to hear from... We need more people like you helping organize competitors to Google. There's so much demand for this, but Qwant, Zoho, vid.me, and CopperheadOS aren't

You made me realize it might be dangerous to have pictures of sensitive documents in Google Photos, even with dual factor authentication... There's not much info on the extent of this "machine learning."

In terms of it making a come back... Why would it when the ambitious could just go somewhere with lower taxes to reduce risk of testing their ideas?

I think lower taxes would benefit Italy a lot in this regard...

I remember kids breaking other things using rotary phones, and then those phones still working fine. Those big hard pieces of plastic were super tough. Maybe if you dropped the base of the phone on its dial or something...

I guess those of us who are less resistant to groupthink (i.e. have working faculties) have to be responsible to get into positions of power so we can say, "fuck off" when designers want to take a line of technology and change it

I'm surprised no comments talk about reducing regulation to help this problem too. If it were easier for small ISPs to thrive, then there would be more competition. The question is: how many areas is Google thriving in which are prohib

So I'm the authoritarian for questioning a platform that censors non-PC content, and whose CEO plans to run for president of the US? There's plenty of evidence that Google has done the same via YouTube.
