Isn’t he operating a VC fund? Shouldn’t he just be doing capital calls for the fund when needed versus sitting on cash typically?

I’m not quite sure about this. I think while python 3 has a tendency to blowup on IO, I still think that is preferable than more cryptic problems. Python 3 did seem to handicap working in bytes though, but I think that has improved in the l

Airbnb seems to do similar things, but has a better business model to support it. I kind of get it from a recruiting standpoint and they probably did need to build some customized software given the scale they have. My guess is they spent f

Well, this is why it makes a lot more sense for startups to raise equity versus debt typically. There could be some exceptions such as using the debt to buy required hard assets, but typically, it makes very little sense.

My guess is they now care a lot more about Google Cloud than previous product endeavors. I’d also guess that people at Google would put in a ton of effort on documentation to avoid having to speak to people on the phone.

I’m not so sure I buy that argument. Larger states have more elected congressional officials balanced by smaller states having more senate votes per state person. The electoral college still gives heavier weights to states by population. Ul

Interesting. I’ve always found it befuddling as a generalist with a relatively high learning curve. I gave it the benefit of the doubt until Google Cloud started rolling out its updates with far better documentation and interfaces. That sai

Funnily enough, I had a visceral reaction when I went from capital markets to startup land, and the startup world was praising Point72. Equally shocking was how candid the Point72 team was on funding startups with the potential to have valu

It's likely important to distinguish whether this disdain is from being a public company due to regulatory requirements or due to having public shareholders. I agree with your point if it is the later. If it is the former, perhaps regu

Conceptually, this is interesting. In Europe, some companies like L'Oreal already offer bonus dividends for institutional shareholders who have held shares for longer than one and two years. Voting rights could be another way to incent

The data doesn’t support this though in the example I gave. This is why many cities like LA are switching to a single provider per area. Note, there still is competition. The contracts go through a bidding process and a competitor could try
