Hyenas are known to eat bone. The bearded vulture is the only known bird that eats bone marrow, and cracks open bones by dropping them on rocks from a great height.

Also, mosquitoes aren't strong flyers, so they can't get to you if the fan is pushing enough force.

It's either flat fee or adjust for cost-of-living based on a person's location. Flat fee is fairer, but it cuts out talent from the most expensive places.

I'm talking about startups that are outside the Bay Area, and outside the US.

Is there a fair way to adjust based on living costs - within certain bounds - that isn't based on rent index, or at least weighted in favour of lower cost areas? Paying Bay Area salaries for every employee just isn't feasible for

I hadn't really thought about the difference between my security and the Government's security, but the distinction you make is important.

I'm not a security expert, so could one of the security experts who frequent HN weigh in on this? Otherwise this looks super cool.

As someone who was on chemotherapy and doing keto, it was the chemo that saved my life. Keto will help prolong it though.

Ugh yeah, you're right - I had to look this up again, it's been that long. Makes sense as we always ran it on the machine as running it on PC would run fine.

Under XNA, the garbage collector on PC was rudimentary compared to the generational garbage collector on Xbox 360. I had the same problems when working on a game in 2008.

The best part-time gig I had was working 4 hours a workday remotely. I'd start at 5 and finish by 9, which left the rest of the day to do anything I wanted. I got as much done as the other (mobile) developer who worked full-time. I f

I think the sage advice is to find someone who's doing what you do, but is ahead of you on the roadmap (but not too far ahead, perhaps). How do you do that? Be experienced enough to know enough people in your field. Find a contact c

This is highly contextual. I've got a series of 3 month stints on my CV as I'm a contractor. I usually come in to fix things, but by the time they call me in most of the money has been spent on shitty agencies.

I've seen people take this view, and their view crumble as soon as they get a life-threatening condition and receive (mostly) free healthcare (in Australia). If I'd been born in the US, I'd be dead by now.

Appreciate the explanation. Is threading such a big deal that people can't live without it? I honestly never found it useful.

Assuming you're not being facetious, I would think securities means something that goes up in value that doesn't have an inherently physical nature. NB. Correct me if I'm mistaken, I have little knowledge in this area.
