I disabled that feature as soon as it appeared (the less I use a messaging app, the best it is) and forgot about it. Your comment makes me curious: I do really wonder how this feature is used. Signal announced it was really something users

Take your point to its extreme conclusion and you will reinvent Gemini. That’s why I like Gemini so much (and developed my own command line browsers which display the content of a web page in the terminal without caring about CSS/color

Peertube allows you to mirror a Youtube channel so, at the very least, creators could already create a Peertube mirror of their own content with very few effort. Peertube also allows to proeminently display a configurable "support"

Peertube is to Youtube what Mastodon is to Twitter. But better because Peertube is compatible with Mastodon and any ActivityPub app. You can subscribe to a channel from your mastodon account.

I also use libredirect but it has this annoying bug where the reddit redirect will randomly stop working and the only way to solve it is to completely uninstall the extension (not only disabling) then reinstall. But I can’t stand anymore to

Those problems are unavoidable in a monoculture. Worst, we are trying to adress them by putting more power on the monopoly in charge.

Some, like myself, find the mouse really painful to use and hate graphical interfaces when you have to randomly click to find something (while you can read a man page, grep through it and then automatize the process in custom scripts). But
