Soooo... This 6000 years old carving depicts two suns and the constellations of Orion and Taurus. Yet these constellations were invented by the Greeks, inspired from the Egyptians, and should be at most 4000 years old. I'm not an astro

Unless I'm wrong, the link you gave only speaks about impossibility for regular convex polygons, whereas the original links deals with the more general impossibility for any convex polygon with more than 6 sides.

I remember I played with this specific scheme a while ago, and from what I remember it was doing the work well (I did not run a comparison though).

You can think of it as a dual approach. We can consider "E is defined as mc^2, so basically we can extract energy from mass". Alternatively, we can consider "m is E/c^2, so inertial mass is actually energy at rest".

An interesting point to note is that Einstein derived m = E / c^2 rather than E = mc^2. Even though both formulae are obviously equivalent, the interpretations may vary. For instance, for nuclear fission we use E = mc^2. Uranium breaks

Honestly, I have no clue about the proportion of police abuse vs. false claims. I assumed the latter was more important, but I'm probably wrong, now that I think about it.

I'm shooting in the dark, but can this be explained by the fact that people don't know whether the officer has a body camera or not, but won't take the risk? tbh I don't know how big/noticeable they are,.

From what I read [1] it's only one startup that claimed this, and I failed to see any confirmation from any other company. For me, no replication from companies that spend thousands every month on advertising = the startup messed up wi

Hi fellow French engineer. You are paid 29k€, which already covers for your health insurance, retirement plans, unemployment insurance, education, and so on. It is often said that in France, the employer pays 2x what he pays you (look up &q

Also, Barbier confirmed at the same conference that France had hacked Canada's house, which was denied by the French government. So yeah, the US are clearly not the only ones to do that.

The guy also misses the point that packets can be dropped because of integrity check failures: if the packet has been altered in some way (cosmic ray, WiFi interfering with microwaves or whatever), then the checksum fails and the packet is

Interesting. But then, I would say it's part of the teacher's job to prepare his slides and exams, he shouldn't charge the students because he didn't have time to do his job. If he wants some ease in his teaching prepara

I guess the issue is that many people did not know Google was already collecting their history. Also, in my opinion there is a difference between collecting data and exploiting said data. You can store items at your friend's place, but

Thanks, I got it. More cash for the company, and same net worth for shareholders (even more worth if you take taxes into account). So this would lead to an exponential growth to the number of shares? It really looks like a geometric progres

So the company issues more and more shares every year. Doesn't that deflate the value of an individual share ? (More shares, but the company still has the same overall net worth.) If so, is it really more interesting for the shareholde
