It's ironic that you're calling non-disposable items garbage. Genuine question, because everyone's life is different, is it really that big a deal? I bring shopping bags with me when I go grocery shopping. They're more c

The Economist was never neutral. It was set up in response to the Corn Laws in the 19th Century Britain and has been very upfront about its ideological standpoint ever since. It's one of the things I like about it. I do believe it'

That's an ironic conclusion to draw. You could test your own theory against observations that calculations with real world data are very much a part of economics, but are just not part of this particular course.

There's a serious chance that life will not go on for some in Northern Ireland. People might die there as a direct result of this. Jo Cox already died in England. This is not scaremongering.

With respect, the examples you gave seem like more of a problem with employment law and governance in individual countries than with the EU as an institution. The gilet jaunes were/are angry about a carbon tax and lack of wealth taxes.

I think "modern" is more of an allusion to Modern Portfolio Theory, which has been around for decades, rather than trying to imply that modern = newer = better. Modern in this sense could loosely mean "after John Maynard Keyn

Not sure of your age or nationality, but I'm guessing you didn't live through it. (I didn't either, for the record, but my parents did). Ireland in the 70s was not a prosperous place, and trying to pay for things with second

What outcome should be respected though? Nobody voted for Chequers. Which, obviously, isn't acceptable to the EU either in its current form. A lot of people voted for £350m a week extra for the NHS, continued unfettered access to EU ma

To be fair, the EU can't change geography. We're a sparsely populated island off another island off the main bulk of the continent. They already paid big chunks of the bills for Ireland's roads, ports and airports. Asking the

That's a bit reductionist. I'm saying we should enter into formal contracts for services that are vital to the running of our businesses. That way there's more protection against getting the rug pulled out from underneath us.
