Exactly, so then lightning is the better comparison, since it just a few years old and built on bitcoin, like the web was bult on tcp/ip.

That is the whole point of bitcoin. There is no entity that can prevent you from using it. Anyone can say you are not allowed, but enforcing it is impossible in practice.

This is infact what companies currently do. Your argument would make sense if developers got paid per run of their code, instead of only for new code they write.

Bitcoin used all the energy and took all the profits, so there isn't enough left for the AI. duh. Or, and hear me out, using energy to push society forward isn't necessarily bad. Maybe instead of vilifying every new technology th

I point the finger directly at regulations. Who has the time to track lightning transactions for IRS capital gains reporting. Hopefully we see a bill where small amounts aren't taxed.

Energy is not a pie. Producers overproduce energy in order to meet peak demand. Most grid mining uses off peak energy, since the utility would rather sell it cheaper than not have anyone buy it at all. Off grid mining finds stranded energy

Seems legit. GPT-WESTWORLD is a large-scale, multilingual language model that generates fluent, realistic sentences from text in any language. It achieves this by incorporating a novel approach to language modeling and incorporating a new t

Their existing model of soliciting donations via “DEAR WIKIPEDIA READERS,” got them over 150MM without crypto. Their stance on banning crypto changes nothing on this front, and only serves to make themselves seem 'green'

I think lightning network is the next closet. You are correct in that you still need internet, but CBDCs will as well. For lightning you will either need to host your own node, or rely on a third party node. Lightning offers a high degree o

The engines don't move the ship at all. The ship stays where it is and the engines move the universe around it. Maybe the G force is absorbed by the entire universe.
