I do! It's a Docker container. I also run the Element web client, also as a Docker container. I kick back 5 bucks a month to the Matrix.org Foundation since it's probably my most-used piece of software behind my OS and my browser.

Does anyone know how this will work for us folks hosting ourselves? Do we set up a new instance of a sliding sync server, with it's own DB and all that, or do we wait for it to all get integrated into the existing Docker deploy somehow

Vkd3d is only going to get better, and it's pretty darn good right now. I'm okay with Microsoft just sticking with D3D12 for a very long time. I use it to play lots of games on Linux. :D

I'm more commenting on: > Spooked me enough to make me not get permits for the next renos. I have no idea what you're going to decide is up to your own personal code going forward.

That code is a mish-mash of a real safety thing (we don't regulate extension cords at all, so we try to make sure there are outlets everywhere and you don't need them... especially around water, like a sink!) and a general effort

Ah, yeah. I thought I saw some "60s" and so forth on one of the graphs, but I may have read it wrong in the moment.

Thank you. No offense to everyone else replying to me, but this one-liner is worth more than all the hot-takes and random conjecture put together.

Don't forget the Sabre Pyramid, one of the most influential tech innovations of the last two decades.

Does Apple really have some secret sauce, or are they just consistently first in line for TSMC's latest process? Not saying that's better or worse, but it's a very different problem.

Once batteries get really old, I think they can start having trouble maintaining voltage and/or current, and Apple will start limiting performance to reduce fire risk. At least that's my understanding. Hopefully someone who knows

Do you statically link glibc? Everything needs an environment to run in. I wrap all my Rust projects in a container for ease of deployment.

Sure, but I’m pretty sure you still need root to access the Docker daemon. And if you don’t need root, like if you add your account to the Docker group, then your account is essentially always root (since having access to the Docker daemon

I remember it used to be a thing to deal with, but in the last year installing Podman has been the only step I’ve needed to take. Well, and I use Fedora now, where it obviously works out of the box. I think it’s a solved problem at this poi

Maybe, but you can at least see the context, where it came from, all that. In my house we have a habit of asking our Google Home "Hey, Google, can rabbits eat..." and then you can see where the info came from and make a pretty goo

Wait, how is that different from Matrix? My Matrix server only syncs with rooms that I've joined, which is the people I'm chatting with. It's not like a Matrix server just starts syncing random rooms you're not in. I ass

Can you expand on that a bit? Why would having it built in to the language (Kotlin-style, for example) be better than not having the concept of null in the language at all and using something like the Rust Option? Personally, I like the Rus

I use an exercise bike, and ride about 40 minutes a day, but only because that's what was there. I've always thought about replacing it with a rower, since that works so much more of the body.
