So then what’s protecting the protection? And that protection? At some point you have to stop. EVSEs have to be UL rated and conform to the J1772 spec. Their entire reason for existing is safety, and they basically don’t do anything else. T

That’s odd. An EVSE doesn’t require protection. It is the protection.

TFA explains that it’s all relative. Trying to detect 5ma of current going to the wrong place under a 48-amp load may be impossible and will probably result in constant false trips. Probably also in the middle of the night, leaving your car

The fresh water that the PNW currently has access to is mind boggling. If it even comes close to being scarce, the whole world is probably in trouble. We irrigate millions of acres with the Columbia, and it’s still the largest river to hit

Good riddance to people who think they “know how to drive”. If they did that stuff on private tracks, fine, but in my experience they prefer to use the public road network, which is obviously built and managed for transportation only.

So nothing can be slavery if there's any choice at all? By that logic slavery can never exist, because any slave can chose not to work and be killed, kill themselves, run, etc. At some point you have to draw a line and say, there is ch

When you're put in prison, your "freedom is taken". We use that language for a reason. It's what happens, it's intentional, and I used to think everyone understood what it meant. Choices in prison are not the same a

I don't know why folks think Windows is easier to maintain than Linux. Sure, if you're running Gentoo maybe, but Bluefin is the most hands-off and stable operating system I've ever encountered; and I've used ChromeOS. I&

Magnus is a stereotype of a prima donna. He’s always condescending and tried to destroy Hans Niemann’s career because Hans had the nerve to beat him once. I think he wants to be crowned World Champion without going through all the trouble o

Except it’s more than that. Go and Java maintain a stack for every virtual thread. They are clever about it, but it’s very possible that doing anything more than a sleep would have blown up memory on those two systems.

I use Kotlin all day at work and still think it’s a wonderful language. I never use Rust at work and also think it’s a wonderful language. Rust is really just a fun language to write apps in. Is it okay for us to admit that yet?

But it’s TCP that’s holding us back. You can get around it up with multiple range requests, but even then TCP is a bit chatty to be as efficient as theoretically possible. What we need is an open-source Aspera. I gave it a shot a long time

Same. Had to spend a bunch of time on Telegram finding a breakout board in NA, but once I did that, it was just a matter of following directions. It’s my favorite piece of tech at the moment, and it cost me 180 bucks brand new.
