Thanks, great example. It looks like they don't account for the importance of certain terms in tech searches well enough. Like they're far too willing to throw away the "16gb" part of "16gb sdhc" when sorting by price, and sorting by rele

I've seen some negative stories about working at Amazon. I don't recall seeing anybody write that it's a great place to program. Anybody have any stories or links about the upside?

Changing credit cards is a bit of a hassle because of recurring billing tied to the account, one time I missed changing my trash bill over (easier to miss because it wasn't monthly) so I'm hesitant to just change cards if I don't absolutely

Why on earth would I want to crowdsource weather prediction? Isn't this one field where we can all agree that an expert opinion backed up by some expensive measurement gear should be a heck of a lot more useful than polling random people?

I want to see an article about making use of not-perfectly-up-to-date backups databases in a different region. Why can't reddit dump a copy of their new articles and comments to the west coast every night, then if the east coast dies, fire

It seems to me like git and mercurial both solve this problem, but picking one is a big choice with lots of hard to evaluate impacts. Is doing a weekend project on each enough exposure to make a good decision? If not, any other suggestions

A blatant bug isn't a feature. Article is expressly discussing features. I don't see any situation where asking for a feature, being told no, then trying to find a way to argue with the no isn't rude.

Currently, patents have worth well in excess of the application cost. Much of this is because patents are generally presumed valid - it's bloody hard to get a court to overturn one, for example. The article points out that this presumptio
