The base docker images ( https://github.com/godarch/distributions ) only supports x86_64. Docker images have support for having multiple embedded rootfs tarballs for multiple platforms, but it gets complicated. Maybe in

By the sounds of it, you could do this currently. 1) Create a root image for your use that installs Salt in your Arch image. See here: https://github.com/pauldotknopf/darch-recipes/blob/master/ba... 2) F

I'm not familiar with Salt, but it looks interesting! Does Salt allow you to run from an already-built (but minimal) Arch installation? The base Darch images (godarch/arch) is bootstrapped manually. Would I have to create a godarc

With Darch (I'm the author), you can use VoidLinux with a replicated setup. Also, each boot is a clean boot (tempfs overlay). This ensures you capture your OS changes through your build script. https://godarch.com/ Thi

I have a similar diet. In the morning, I drink a slimfast. The high protein helps keep my hunger quenched. I'll eat a small bar for lunch. Then, I'll have a normal dinner. Also, I've cut out all soda and sugar from my diet. I

You could replace Travis with Gitlab, since you are using AppVeyor for Windows anyway. With GitLab ci, you can run their "gitlab-runner" command locally pretty easily. I use it often to check my builds before actually pushing. It&

If I could produce the same sounds with cheaper equipment in a fraction of the time, what makes this experiment worthy? Spoiler alert, it's the buzz around ML.

Yeah, it seems like a lot of work and technical know-how to make something that doesn't really sound new. Seems more like a hipster-ish take on making music. "I only make music on instruments that I can build myself."

GC's have some kind of inherit reference counting which makes releasing pointers safe, in any direction. You can't do that with C/C++ without something like glib.

Each module has to have it's own GC. In my experience, it's been easier to integrate two languages that have GC (JavaScript and Go) than two languages where only one is GC'd (JavaScript and Rust). What will the interop with R

Go is making a large push to wasm as well. There is a branch/fork with a near complete wasm Go compiler. I'm interested in seeing how Rust and Go will compare in the future of the web. Who will win? ;)

People gripe at Go's error checking, claiming it's verbose, etc. But, I like it. Fully and clearly expressed intent for the handling of errors.

I'd say it's generally true with their native projects (C/C++). With their higher level stuff, they do a lot better.

What is the purpose of this? Just static analysis? If that is it, you'd probably be better off just using the PHP parser ( https://github.com/nikic/PHP-Parser ). If you are writing analyzers for PHP, you must know i

Do people use Nix for building and deploying project dependencies? Example project? Can you consume the result in a format that isn't all Nix-y symlinked?

I can see people arguing for object oriented over procedural. As I type that, I realize I've recently learned to love Go, so maybe it is my bias.

Let me ask it this way: I'm a higher level programmer. Later in my career I happen to get down to microcontrollers, what would stop me from using C++?

Why is C king? Why not C++? The difference is just a compiler, and you can use C in C++.

It sounds like you are looking for something like Yocto/OE, which you can bake pretty much any build script into, cross compile and deploy. What exactly are you looking for with regards to deployment, and what tool do use, instead of C

Nope. However, it is easy to expose C methods (not entire opencv interface) to your app via PInvoke. I do this often, and allows me to quickly pop in any native library how I want.

It IS a factor. Many people choose Python because of the libraries available. Many developers just want to ride the wave, not innovate.
