You can take a look at my personal recipes to see it in action. https://github.com/pauldotknopf/darch-recipes I think the documentation does a good job at giving you an idea of how it works. It doesn't take long t

If you like Arch, but still want the immutability and reliability of NixOS, you should check out a project I developed, Darch. https://godarch.com/

I built Darch to give me what I crave from NixOS. Immutability. https://godarch.com/

Hmm, can I reference multiple versions of the same library? Not that I'd want to, just wondering how it works.

If library authors can expose types of their dependencies, it still is an issue. Consumers must use the same exact version.

One thing I don't like is that sometimes when I reference a go library, sometimes it's vendored dependencies are exposed. This forces me to constantly keep my vendor file in sync with theirs. Is there something we can do about for

Thanks! Vendoring needs to be solved and unified, I get it. But to me, the biggest thorn is generics. I have ran into too many cases where generics would have made my life a lot easier.

There is no performance cost. It boots your rootfs/kernerl/initramfs natively. As for SSD usage, your rootfs will never be written to (read only with tmpfs overlay), only reads. You can mount partitions normally with fstab, which

Why make bootable images, as opposed to docker images? What sorts of applications do you see using this?

The system will stretch us thin, until we break. I don't know what "break" means, but I don't think it will be pretty.

I could not agree with this more. gstreamer, gtk, etc, are really easy to work with and browse the source. This is why I love golang as well. Side note, it is funny how much gstreamer and glib try to add c++ "ish" features to c.

I see. A text file that just declares that "this project uses lib 2.1". It isn't a part of the build system in any way. That would be awesome.

How would you effectively do this in a way that is cross-build-platform friendly? CMAKE? autoconf? submodules? I don't see that happening.

Exactly. The tech-stack perfectly slices responsibilities. That is what really motivated me to do it. Seemed like peanut butter and jelly. Also, performance. Anything beats electron.

There was a T_D user who faked a knife attack. He said it was a black person who did it because "he was white". He immediately posted his bloody hand on T_D and said "apparently I look like a NAZI". It was later found ou

If you dig into the comments on each of the subs, you will see it isn't just left vs right. One has doxing/harrasment/violence, the other doesn't.

Oh, I didn't see that. I thought you meant raw React. But even then, now you want people to learn a new tool to use React "simply"?

You are saying this... var rootElement = React.createElement('div', {}, React.createElement('h1', {}, "Contacts"), React.createElement('ul', {}, React.createElem

You are right, I see why OP's initial statement was wrong about React being "simple" because you could make it simple. Did Dojo expect the community to use the "optional complexity"?
