Oh my god. Thank you for this great news. I was almost resigned to see Thunderbird being sunset. It's an amazing client and will only become better by utilising the progress made by Firefox.

Saying things has consequences. All these articles seem to be complaining about the sudden realization that you can't say something without suffering from consequences in SV. I don't generally care about SV and I think it has its

This is a very misinformed opinion. Being a rich kid is not at all akin to being on welfare. A sibling comment pointed out the diffrence of money, but there's also a gap in the quality and quantity of opportunities to succeed.

Even if we assume that your point is true, Hickey wasn't comparing Clojure's type system specifically with only C++/Java. He was making a general point about static vs dynamic typing. He even mentioned Haskell and C++ in the

While that is true, it's not like C++ and Java are the torchbearers of static typing. Much better type systems exist than those of C++ and Java and basing your worldview of static typing just on the experience with these two is shortsi

Sure, you can use them as a consumer all the time, but that doesn't mean that you need to write your own to program in Lisps, for instance. For the few that do need it, it's a worthy tool to have.

Somebody else said branches were already native to git. So are pull requests. Comments and issues are unlikely to be made native to git ever since git is developed primarily for the Linux kernel and their discussion channel is the mailing l

If you Google, you can find tons of good stuff written in Lisps. Julia is an up-and coming language - but it is highly regarded by the data science community. > What exactly does it mean to have "good dynamic typing facilities"
