I might just be getting old, but more and more I see people not using indicators and not understanding the rules of junctions. Tail gating also really annoying. I was in a mates car recently and it scared the hell out of me, he was tail gat

I'll be surprised if my country (the UK) doesn't go down the same path. I don't like the reform party, but they seem to be the only party that see the danger in all of this.

Might be misunderstanding the workflow here, but I think if a change request comes and I alter the spec, I'd need to re run the llm bit that generates the code?

I'll probably be proven wrong eventually, but my main thought about spec driven dev with llms is that it introduces an unreliable compiler. It will produced different results every time it is run and it's up to the developer to re

I agree. And that's what I'm getting at, making statements like the parent post about rich people is a bit ridiculous.

The point I'm trying (and obviously failing) to make is that "rich people" is a very broad definition to the point of being completely meaningless. About 7 to 8 percent of my Americans have a net worth greater than 1 million

That's a pretty broad statement about rich people. How do you define rich?

I think valve are the only players in a position to do this. They can probably ship this new hardware at a loss and make the money back through steam game purchases. Much like console manufacturers.

I think a lot of it is because after world war 2 the labour government decided that a centralised planned economy and nationalisation of every business (and I do mean every, this was in labours manifesto until new labour in the 90s) would p

I think games like dishonoured also managed to side step the uncanny valley. Not cartoony, just their own thing (actually more like an oil painting).

I can't figure out what Microsoft's strategy is with the Rog ally X or whatever it's called. The branding is really confusing, even on just the devices. It gets even more confusing with Xbox on pc. Are they planning on compet

So if not by subscription revenue or advertising revenue how will YouTube pay it's costs?

Bit off topic but anyone here use white noise with their young kids, as a sleep aid? I'm really paranoid about giving them tinnitus. I am just back from holiday with extended family, I mentioned to my brother that the white noise he is

Or pay for a YouTube subscription? There is a lot of complaining on hacker news about adverts, yet when Google offer the only other viable solution (subscription fees) everyone still complains.

The windows 11 dir tree thing is a nightmare especially with one drive added in. Trying to find a file I've downloaded has become strangely difficult. Also word and excel seem hell bent on making it hard to save or find a file in a loc

Maybe not the same thing, but chatgpt 5 was driving me insane in visual studio co pilot last week. I seemingly could stop it from randomly changing bits of code, to the point where it was apologising then doing the same in next change even

Unreal engine 1 looks good to me, so I am not a good judge. I keep thinking there is going to be a video game crash soon, over saturation of samey games. But I'm probably wrong about that. I just think that's what Nintendo had rig
