I hope external Thunderbolt SSD's will keep much of the same performance characteristics as the internal SATA ones, but there's no way to know that until there actually are some thunderbolt devices :). Having a good performing external SSD

I don't think it's that obvious. Two counter-examples: If you use someones paper, pen, envelope and stamp to threaten someone, you're still liable. If you tap someones electricity, you're liable.

Sounds like the i5-2400 and the i7-2600 to me, both Sandy Bridge CPU's. The bit about the "only at.." means you can't get them in the physical store, because those will be custom built to your specifications.

You now have to upgrade to the second tier if you want to have more than 500GB hard drives or an SSD, so if you really want that you'll have to pay $300 more than the base model. Too bad the hard drives in these macs are so hard to replace

"This is not about ability" Sure it is. That's exactly what the following statement means: "Apple cannot identify the source of this data". How can you interpret that as anything else but their ability of identifying the source? The stateme

Point is that he's turning roaming off, and probably doesn't have access to WiFi in the foreign city. By having the database, you don't need a data connection at all, thus saving money.

That probably only works for local telco's. With Apple's info, US agencies can track anyone with an iPhone in the world, even if the telco's there don't want to cooperate.

They receive your IP address because that's how IP works; otherwise they wouldn't have an address to send data back (and IP packets with a spoofed source IP are dropped immediately). They might not do anything with it, but they definitely h

In Amsterdam as a starter you can expect somewhere between €30k and €38k, depending on your skill set and company you're applying for. I think €45k for a senior position sounds about right, but this really depends a lot on where you're goin

Except that when you use TrueCrypt most of the functionality of DropBox stops working; you can't access your files through the web interface anymore (duh), but most importantly, you can't use the volume on two machines at the same time.

Of course, Apple would know your location most of the time anyway, whether or not this file exists. You send the ID's of cell towers and wifi points to Apple, which returns you the location of those points. Apple could always have been stor

I don't think the AppleTV replaces any top-box right now, nor is it meant to do so. As long as you can't watch live tv with it, almost no-one will use it instead of their cable subscription. That said, I don't really see problems with givin
