Even if the cost goes down it will not change the fact they need to recoup like a trillion dollars before AI starts generating any profit. And there's really no timeline for costs going down. It seems the only way to get better models

Even if we reach AGI I doubt it's going to be economically feasible to run it for the average user. Probably only for big corps and govts.

I'm more than happy to pay for Youtube Premium to remove ads for all the family and ensure content creators can monetize their work.

Youtube premium does remove all Google's ads. Obviously not the ads the content creator has put into the video itself.

Why OVH? It's one of the biggest hosting companies in the world (probably the biggest in Europe) but it doesn't have exactly the best reputation.

Maybe you can guarantee Phoenix will be maintained 5-10 years from now but that's really not the case for some random library on Github. If you look around you'll see this kind of stuff is really one of the biggest blockers for

Not really. You can be much more confident the official AWS SDK will be available 5 or even 10 years from now.

I'm surprised they are investing into this. I checked Phoenix recently because I was interested in LiveView and there isn't even an official AWS SDK for Elixir. Honestly doubt the AI stuff is going to move the needle much if you c

I never said AI itself is pretending. Quite the contrary. But AI companies are certainly trying to create the illusion that chatbots are behaving like humans. If someone is being fooled by this then these people are the ones anthropomorphiz

I don't know if it's usual. I doubt it is. When you watch a video ad do you feel an irrational need to buy a product?

Do you take eg advertisement at face value? Even when you know they're trying to convince you to accept some idea of the brand and buy something?

I'm always amazed that people feel anything when chatting with an AI bot. Don't people realize it's a machine "pretending" to be human?

Israel doesn't even need Whatsapp to be installed. The IDF's Unit 8200[1] can probably hack most phones in Iran. And if not any of the private companies selling spyware software like the NSO Group[2 and 3]. [1] https://
