It's been decades since I last had it but everything was worse. Especially the texture. IIRC you heated water and/or milk and then you just poured the flakes inside and stirred. It's so easy to make real mashed potatoes that

I was about 20 years old when I ate real mashed potatoes for the first time. I've never eaten that instant crap since then.

You can still have separate codebases for server and client in JS/TS...

What about the RAM price surge? What about diverting funding from much more useful and needed things? What about automation of scams, surveillance, etc? I can keep going. There are plenty of reasons to hate on AI beyond hype.

It’s not only the hype though. What about the complete lack of morality some (most?) AI companies exhibit? What about the consequences in the environment? What about the enshitification of products? What about the usage of water and energy?

I'm in a similar position. I use Hono, Zod, and Drizzle which AFAIK don't need Node compat. IIRC I've only used Node compat once to delete a folder recursively with rm.

I wonder what this means for Deno. Will this make it more or less likely for people to use Bun vs Deno? And now that Bun doesn't need to run a profitable cloud company will they move faster and get ahead of Deno?

Sam Altman said in 2024 that AGI could happen as soon as 2025. https://dianawolftorres.substack.com/p/is-agi-just-around-th... And that's not his only bold claim about AGI.

IIRC ads predate Youtube premium by years. But why compare these two businesses? They are completely different. From the estimates I've seen, Youtube operating costs are a fraction of what OpenAI is burning yearly.

So basically they are admitting that not enough people will pay for it to be a profitable business. Also that they don’t have any significant improvements to the tech coming up.

Seems weird to me that anyone would frame it like this. In my country (Spain) we put eg ramps for wheelchairs no matter the political party. It's considered a human rights or moral issue, not a political one.

With TS you don't have to "define a clean API boundary with some enforcement at build time". You can use the exact same types you're using to enforce endpoint schemas everywhere. You don't need a middle man like Ope

Blazor will produce super bloated web apps. I can see it being used for an in-house thing with captive users but for a real world product or a public app? It would be a terrible choice. Also the DX is just not there. Hot reload is a mess. E

I tried Razor. It's mature, has tons of features, and it's very fast. But it only really solves rendering HTML. You will still need to integrate Vite somehow to use modern CSS, TS, etc. And if you do that, why even use Razor to be

There's so much stuff they could be working on instead like a first party Postgres driver, better OpenAPI, improving Minimal APIs, etc.
