I believe there is evidence that the action of writing by hand forms memories more strongly. Since all my meetings are video calls now, I've reverted to writing notes, simply because I can't feign concentration on the call and typ

In my experience (marketing at a small tech company), you can get results even for reasonably competitive terms. The difference is in giving a quality answer to the query. Many (most?) tech companies fill their sites with low-quality, jar

Yeah, the one thing I took away from this timely endorsement of using two screens(?) is that Zoom has a special two-screen mode.

I wish there was a way to do this but with popular/classic board and card games instead. My friends are, for the most part, not board game nerds. They want to play commercially successful games like Trivial Pursuit, Balderdash, Uno, et

The author of the article (and, presumably, most businesses) are living in the past. I work in an open-plan office in a place that makes heavy use of the latest collaboration software, and it works great. There is virtually no use of email

Everything is ass-covering. The "trust" tech marketing builds is to say "I trust these guys won't lose me my job", not "I trust their software works exactly as advertised".

As the former holder of yahoo.org.uk, I can also confirm that ordinary people don't understand the difference between .org.uk and .co.uk.

I gave desktop Firefox multiple chances over the course of 15 years, until that day in May when every extension stopped working.[1] That said, the mobile version seems really robust. [1] https://techcrunch.com/2019/05&#

I think I picked up my first Sansa Clip+ new for £15, and my second one (just after they were discontinued) for about £35. I imagine it's gone up again since then!

Yes - I have Rockbox running on a Sansa Clip+ and it's superb. The only music player apart from Winamp that has a built-in out-of-phase stereo option! (aka 'vocal remover', though the effect is highly variable)

The monthly fee for Photoshop is around 1/100th of the old retail price. That works out at about 8 years of use before you have to 'buy' the software again. Seems fair to me. And for those who don't like paying for Photo

As an Ecotricity customer I do wonder about this. My bills seem to go up every 6 months and are already pretty high. Then again, I used to be with Eon and their customer service is outrageously abysmal - dropped calls, 30+ minute hold times
